Today, I am sharing my ‘Classy Camo’ look with y’all! Woohoo! Camo is forever a neutral in my book - and many designers / brands agree like J. Crew, GAP, and Nordstrom to name a few! Camo tends to get a non-fashion reputation - people associate it with hunting and outdoorsy things - but to any fashion lover - it is a total staple in your closet!
In this look, I am wearing an eight year old camo button-down that I use as a ‘jacket’ - and you’ll never believe where this piece is from… FOREVER21! Can you believe it? Still going strong after 8 years! I remember this piece so well, because for my 16th birthday my sweet sweet sweet mom took me to New York with a lot of spending money - and man did I do some damage at the Forever21 in Union Square :) This piece was one of the many pieces I bought that day, and probably one of the only pieces I still have from that day in 2010.
So yes - I preach quality over quantity most of the time - especially in staple pieces that will last forever - but I am also one to shop at inexpensive places and show you how to style yourself with those inexpensive items that others would never guess the price tag of said inexpensive item.
Camo is so easy to dress up or down. Today, I wore it with a simple white H&M $5 tank top, my favorite Old Navy jeans, my $10 J. Crew Earrings, my favorite $10 Amazon sunnies, and my white Express bootie mules. All aboard the S A L E train! Toot, Toot! My entire look is styled for under $75. CRAY, CRAY!
Y’all sales are the way to go - if you want to have a closet of your dreams for less - shop ahead of the upcoming season. For instance, winter is coming (GOT fans I see you) and I have already purchased my sweaters for the season… I purchased them from April - July for WAY less. Yes, they may not be the trendy sweaters, BUT they are staple sweaters that I’ll wear for a very long time - then I will hit up H&M, Zara, Old Navy, and Forever21 for my trendy winter pieces this season.
